The mission of Encore Art by Whitney is to help facilitate an atmosphere of authentic joy and welcome in the lives of others. As an artist, I specialize in commissioned work in both watercolor and acrylic, celebrating milestone events in the lives of families throughout my community. I also teach painting parties from my home and the homes of others with the primary goal of reviving the childhood joy of artistic expression.

Encore Art began shortly before my youngest child was born in 2019. A mother to two kiddos under the age of 3 barely 4 years after my wedding, I was feeling overwhelmed by the tides of motherhood and marriage. During a worship service at our home church, I felt a persistent longing in my spirit to express my love of Jesus and our life’s blessings through painting. I began by painting one image at a time over the following weeks during naps and after the kids went to bed.These painting sessions became (and continue to be) a way for me to connect with my inner playful child and have strengthened my faith in God.

My current studio space is a renovated shed in our backyard. There is room for the kids to do their own art projects and I get to watch them play in the yard while I work. My husband and our children are my greatest joys in life and I believe that there is nothing more fulfilling than a family bonded in authentic love.
